Abstract

 

The article explored the possibilities of integrating artificial intelligence algorithms to improve information processing in state databases. It is shown that the MRZ data recognition algorithm from the passport image has significant potential for use in government databases, as it can significantly improve the efficiency and security of various government services. The processing of information in the state databases of Ukraine is a complex process that includes the collection, input, verification, processing and storage of data. This process is essential for the efficient operation of government agencies, but traditional methods based on human labor are becoming less and less effective due to the growing volume and complexity of information. The solution to this problem can be achieved thanks to modern technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), which can automate routine processes, improve data accuracy and security, and reduce costs. This paper considers the possibility of integrating artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms to improve data processing in state databases. An algorithm was developed for automatic extraction of information from the machine-readable zone (MRZ) of the Ukrainian passport in the form of an ID card. Python programming code processes MRZ images, identifies and extracts key owner data. Features include image preprocessing, MRZ region detection, recognized text analysis, and data formatting. The test results showed that the algorithm successfully processes data from the ID card, minimizing human intervention and reducing processing time. Using AI to automate MRZ recognition can be the basis for creating a unified citizen identification system that will improve access to public services, reduce administrative burden and increase security. Thus, the implementation of AI algorithms for processing information in state databases has significant potential for improving the efficiency and quality of public services in Ukraine.
