Retraction Policy

The journal «IT Synergy» is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity. When a publication is found to be unreliable or in breach of ethical standards, a retraction procedure is initiated. This process is conducted in accordance with the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) on the retraction of scholarly publications and is intended to ensure transparency and objectivity.

Purpose of the Policy

  • to preserve the integrity of the scholarly record and maintain trust in the journal;.
  • to uphold ethical standards and principles of academic integrity in scholarly publishing
  • to ensure transparency and objectivity in addressing potential violations.

Grounds for Retraction

An article may be retracted if any of the following are identified:

  • significant errors in data or conclusions that affect the scientific value of the work;
  • data manipulation or fabrication of results;
  • improper citation, unacknowledged use of sources, or copyright infringement;
  • non-compliance with ethical standards (e.g. inappropriate authorship attribution or undisclosed conflicts of interest);
  • false or misleading information regarding the author’s affiliation or sources of funding.

Retraction Process

  1. A concern may be raised by an author, reviewer, or another interested party.

  2. The Editorial Board conducts an initial assessment and, where necessary, involves an independent expert or reviewer to ensure an objective evaluation.

  3. Evidence is collected, and the circumstances are discussed with the authors and, where appropriate, with the authors’ affiliated institution.

  4. A decision is then made to:
    - retract the article;
    - issue a correction to the material;
    - publish additional clarifications or statements.

Post-Retraction Measures

The retracted article remains available in open access with a clear “Retracted” label to preserve the transparency of the scholarly record. The retraction notice clearly states the date and the reasons for the decision. Information about the retraction is communicated to all databases and indexing services that list the article.
