General Principles of Editorial Policy

The Editorial Board of the journal «IT Synergy» adheres to the principles and recommendations of leading international organisations in the field of publication ethics and scholarly publishing, including the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE, ethical standards), World Association of Medical Editors (WAME, principles for editors across all disciplines), San Francisco Declaration on Research Assessment (DORA, principles of fair research assessment), and International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE, general principles applicable across disciplines). The editorial policy is based on the principles of transparency, academic integrity, peer-review objectivity, editorial independence, and responsible authorship.

The journal “Economic Synergy” ensures appropriate responses to ethical violations, including the handling of complaints, corrections, and retractions of publications, as well as adherence to the principles of disclosure of conflicts of interest and funding sources.

In its activities, the Editorial Office also supports modern approaches to the evaluation of research outputs, the development of open science, the accessibility of research data in accordance with the FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable), open access policy, and the responsible use of artificial intelligence technologies.

Given the ongoing armed aggression against Ukraine, the Editorial Office adopts a principled position and does not engage in cooperation with individuals or legal entities affiliated with aggressor states, directly or indirectly funded by them, or included in national or international sanctions lists.

Cooperation is also excluded in cases where there is confirmed information from official or authoritative sources (state authorities, international organisations, etc.) regarding the involvement of authors with aggressor states or their institutions.

Furthermore, the Editorial Office does not cooperate with individuals (authors, reviewers, or Editorial Board members) who have been found to have committed violations of academic integrity under applicable legislation or official decisions of competent authorities. Cooperation is also excluded where credible evidence from reliable sources indicates systematic breaches of research ethics.

If such circumstances are identified, the Editorial Office reserves the right to reject a manuscript at any stage of the review process, retract a published article, and restrict or terminate engagement with the individuals concerned, including suspending their accounts in the editorial system.

These restrictions apply regardless of whether the relevant circumstances are identified before, during, or after the review and publication of the material.
