Principles of Ethical Responsibility

The Editorial Office of the academic journal «IT Synergy» is responsible for organising the publication process and ensuring adherence to the principles of academic integrity, in line with the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Key Principles:

  • Decisions on publication are based on the scientific merit, reliability of results, and relevance to the journal’s scope.
  • Manuscripts are evaluated objectively and impartially, regardless of the authors’ personal characteristics (such as origin, religious or political beliefs, or social status), except in cases where authors are affiliated with aggressor states.
  • Unpublished materials and information are treated as confidential and must not be used for personal purposes or disclosed to third parties without the authors’ written consent.
  • The Editorial Office does not consider for publication any materials for which there are reasonable grounds to suspect plagiarism or other violations of academic integrity.
  • All substantiated complaints are reviewed, and appropriate measures are taken to address any violations.

Reviewer Ethics

Reviewers are required to:

  • treat manuscripts as confidential documents;
  • provide objective and well-reasoned assessments of the research;
  • refrain from using unpublished data for personal advantage;
  • disclose any conflicts of interest or lack of expertise relevant to the review.

Author Ethics

The author (or group of authors) is responsible for the accuracy and scientific novelty of the research results and must:

  • provide an accurate and complete account of the research conducted and its findings;
  • ensure the originality of the work and proper citation of all sources used;
  • avoid plagiarism in all forms;
  • not submit the same manuscript to multiple journals simultaneously;
  • appropriately acknowledge all co-authors;
  • ensure that all co-authors have approved the final version of the manuscript;
  • promptly notify the Editorial Office of any errors in a published work and cooperate in their correction or retraction.

Actions in Case of Ethical Violations

Violations by a reviewer:

  • investigations are conducted where documented evidence is available;
  • if a violation is confirmed, the reviewer may be removed from the journal’s reviewer database;
  • if materials have been published in violation of ethical standards, a retraction procedure may be initiated.

Violations by an author:

  • the Editorial Office may request supporting documentation to verify the accuracy of the data presented;
  • if such documentation is not provided, the manuscript will be rejected;
  • where appropriate, the matter may be referred to the author’s affiliated institution for further consideration.
